Meet Miss K
Hello!

(Special thanks to illustrations by tiredfairy, CallowLily Art and Lili!)
Check in daily with Aromaleigh’s creator, Kristen Leigh… aka “Miss K” aka “Mineral Makeup Maven” if you’re a regular on the Aromaleigh Aficionadas online forum. Miss K will fill you in daily on all the happenings at Aromaleigh Central… and a lot more! From what’s new at Aromaleigh with new products, website updates, sales and discounts, upcoming goodies, colors and surprises… to items that are back in stock or out of stock… to makeup tips and tricks.
This is also K’s journal, and she often makes posts of a more personal nature, shares her love for fashion, shoes music or politics. You might also read feedback and reviews about beauty products that she’s personally testing and using as part of her personal routine.
You never know what each day’s posts might bring… so check in daily!
Who ever made up that silly rule that you can’t match your eyeshadow to your clothes? Miss K is here to refute that rule and more… and make mineral makeup fun and fabulous to wear and experiment with. And make it work wonderfully. And most importantly, look and feel GREAT
(Miss K is also an avid chocoholic and will gladly discuss any and all forms of chocolate with you, at any time of day or night.)

I can’t spell my email addy out in full as I just had to change over all of my site addresses because I was spending 2-3 hours a day total deleting and sifting through thousands and thousands of spam messages routed into my general aromaleigh.com email inbox. (When you’ve got several aromaleigh.com addresses and spammers have all of them, that’s a lot of spam!)

That second illustration of you is amazing! I love how the flowers are actually AL products in disguise. Who drew it?
What a COOL picture that is! Too cute!
Gorgeous illustrations! Awesome blog! Kristen, you should feel very very good about it all!
Probably the lovely work of Mariah, aka “tiredfairy”:

The first illustration is the spittin’ image of me on any given day and is by Mariah, “tired fairy”. The second is by CallowLily Art and is a portrait I had commissioned to give to my husband Steven for a Christmas gift… but I got a little ahead of myself when the scan was sent to me, because I love it so much! The original is 11×14 and is paint and ink and has some portions with glitter detail. It’s gorgeous. I framed it and wrapped it last night. It’s in a dark purple metallic frame, which will match our bedroom (which is all mauves and purples- I like purple!).

Dear Miss K -
In your honest opinion, do you REALLY think the mini marvel has done wonders for your skin? I have been using it too but am thinking its a waste of money.
Thanks
I LOVE YOUR PRODUCTS!!!! I have love wearing make-up more than I ever have, because of your products. Thank You!!! I do have a question. Are there certain eye-shadow colors I should use because I have blue eyes?
Hi Laura! I’m not Miss K but I do have blue eyes so I’ll take a stab at your question!
First of all, keep in mind that are no hard and fast rules in makeup — there are no colors you SHOULD use; rather, use colors that you WANT to use! However, if you’re looking for some general guidelines, here are some tips to get you started (but don’t be afraid to branch out into different colors than what I have listed here!)
In general, eyeshadows that contrast with (are on the opposite side of the color from) your eye color will make your eyes “pop” the most! For blue eyes, try browns or anything with an orange undertone such as peaches, coppers, bronzes, etc. Other good contrasting colors include pinks, anything reddish (try red-browns like Torrid if true reds and burgundies are too intimidating!), gold, and yellows. You may also find that your skintone can make a difference — e.g. cool pinks will probably look better on cool skintones, while warm peaches might look better on warm skintones! (But there are exceptions, I have warm undertones and there are a few shades of pink I can wear.) Same rules apply for eyeliner: browns and other contrasting colors are usually recommended. I also like navy blue (like Scuba Dive gel liner) paired with a neutral or non-blue eyeshadow since it brings out the navy rim around my irises!
My favorite everyday neutrals include Entangle, Torrid, Wish, Damask, Fox, Sophie, Angelique, slowburn, Coco Bean, Hazelnut, Marigold, Alchemy, Angel Wing. Chocolate Mousse and Penny gel liners are great. For a more colorful weekend look, I like shades like Chloe, stillinhollywood, Abyss, and Lucky. (Yes, I know purples and teals aren’t traditionally recommended for blue eyes, but I still like them! stillinhollywood and most teal colors look good with my skintone too!)
Good luck, have fun, and sample, sample, sample!
Hi, I’m new at this, so I’m not sure if I’m what I’m doing. I have Dark Brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin with golden brown freckles, blue veins and pink undertones. Am I a Spring, Summer, or Winter? What colors should I be wearing? I would like to know about makeup, jewelry and clothing colors.
Thank you.
