Moving finally, almost done! YAY!

After 7 days of torture, I am overjoyed to announce that we’re pretty much moved in to our new ‘digs. I cannot believe the amount of stuff that we moved… Steven alone basically filled the truck up and emptied it three times, and moved things that I thought would require two strong men, not just one! Little by little, it all happened (and sheesh, I bet you’re probably sick of hearing about it, I know that I sure am sick of hearing myself say “Oh Man…” over and over again…) Every muscle in my body aches, and I’ve got bruises all over my legs and cuts and scrapes on my arms and hands. My nails that just started to grow? Forget about those. I filed them right off… ha!

Anyway, here’s some 80% of the way there pictures that I snapped this morning… I’ve got a lot more organizing to do, but compared to the pictures that I posted earlier this week… the progress is huge!

Lovely racks of inventory. That rack on the end with the empty cubbies? That one is just waiting for some new eyeshadow colors as inspired by your suggestions!

Our workstations and office area… I had two of these desks and the shelf in storage, disassembled because I had no room for them in my last office. It was a joy to put them together without instructions. My husband joked about my need to have office furniture that was as complex as the Verranzano bridge. I think the Verranzano bridge is quite lovely, thank you. It is very nice to have more desk space. I feel much more official… but I do miss the fabulous desk I used to have in Rochester that was made out of old bowling alleys.

Smiling. I am very happy that moving is almost over! It was so hot today that we struggled to keep the office cool. We had the HVAC guy out to check our system just to make sure. He said that with the heat index over 100 degrees, he’s done nothing but fix broken systems. Hot hot hot.

This room is so not yet done and so unorganized. This is the room where we package all of the jars and samples, I have much work left to do here. Our flooring guy still has not yet completed the floor in this room, either- so I am a little panicked about this, as well. We had no choice but to move into the room and set up without him having the floor done. Guess he’s going to be working around us!

That’s all for tonight… I do think that we are ready to start accepting orders, as all work stations are a go, our computers are up and running and networked, and our internet connection is finally stable. I spent the last two days trying to get really organized and get every single box unpacked.

So, I did open the store for ordering. Right now, I am still honoring the sales that got cut off early last week.

International ordering will come soon, we’re working on all the write-ups and store programming necessary for that switch.

And we will have a grand re-opening sale, once I have a few days of processing orders normally and know that everything is running normally, then I will go ahead and announce a sale. But didn’t want to open up fresh with guns blazing and have things go awry…

Thanks so much ladies for your patience… it will be well-rewarded!!!

xoxo

Wow. I can’t believe it’s been 7 days already. You got so much accomplished in a short amount of time. I’m so happy for you that the majority of it is over. I’m sure you’ll be settled and organized in no time. Yay for new e/s too!

How exciting!!! It looks like things are moving forward swimmingly! Although the heat you are dealing with can’t be easy. You look so beautiful and happy in that picture! Thank you so much for opening up so quickly, I have been going into a bit of withdrawal – however, my bank account has appreciated the reprieve :)

    Cheers!

Kristen – You have inspired me to organize my office space better! I went out Wednesday and purchased two metal shelving units just like you have in your mixing room.

Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for all those empty cubby spaces!

Having moved more times than I can count (and only ever with the help of one other person!), I know well the black-and-blue aftermath!!! But Kim is right… despite your black-and-blueness and however tired and completely spent you must be feeling, that is a terrific and flattering picture of you. Congratulations, and I sure hope I can muster the funds to celebrate your grand re-opening with you… I haven’t been able to order like I’m used to in a while, since I’ve spent about $2500 at the vet since the beginning of May. Got my 2 young ones checked up and spayed, and then my oldest (going on 12) was diagnosed with a liver tumor. All my play dough (and then some) has been going to pay for her bills and medicines. :’(

Everything looks wonderful – and the bright green signs are down, so this must mean everything’s back up and running!

Kristen, my husband and I laughed aloud about the desks – I have been wanting them and he won’t let me get them for the very same reason!!!! We should have a desk-assembly party with you guys.

Awesome!! Everything looks fantastic. That smiling picture of you is a testament to the quality of your foundation- skin that looks that fantastic after hours of labor in heat!!! Wow!

I agree w/Kimera … I’d love to look that good after the amount of work you’ve put in over the last week!

The space and you looks beautiful!

Thank you so much ladies! It’s been a whirlwind week, I can’t believe that everything is all moved, and finally falling into place. I thought that I had so much space, but I’m finding that I am having a hard time finding a place to put everything! I can’t believe the sheer amount of stuff that I had efficiently and carefully packed into such a smaller area at the old shop. Spread it all out, and there’s nowhere to put it all!!! I’ve got to order at least 4 more spans of stainless shelves for my blending room… and another workbench table. I used them all up in the packaging room!!! Connor and Presley were very excited to see the new place yesterday, and Connor came to work with me yesterday and he helped out with vacuuming, helping me put things away and put a bunch of labels on sample baggies. Such a good little helper!

brava, bella!! despite the bruises (we should compare, I have my own collection from moving, too – owwie!), I’m sure you’re very pleased to finally be moved into bigger digs (I know I am!), and I’m very pleasantly surprised to see that you’ve already reopened the store, YAY! :D congrats on what appears to be a very successful move, and I look forward to seeing what kinds of new goodies you tempt us with from your new AL HQ… ;)
