Shop by Color… Coming Soon… You Vote! April 29, 2008

That feature you’ve all been craving… “Shop by Color” is now possible that all of the eyeshadows have been re-photographed and re-swatched!

We’ve started work on the arduous task of rearranging all of the shadows into their various color groupings and assigning them warm, cool or neutral markers.

Here is a sample of all of our natural mineral eyeshadows in the Red/Wine shade range.

In the final chart on the site, you would be able to click on a shade and go to the page where that color is sold. So if you clicked on “Wine”, you would go to the Pure Eyes Frost page.

You’re right… Rocks! Sonic Eyes and Glam Glitters are not on these charts. Since these are not part of the Aromaleigh Mineral Cosmetic Line (natural minerals) I left them off so there wasn’t confusion for those who were product purists (and there is a very large customer demographic that represents this). However, I could add them to the bottom of each chart.

That’s where you get to vote. Do you think I should add the Rocks! products to the bottom of a chart such as this example chart, or make a separate chart for the Rocks! line? Let me know. Chime in!

Lisa and I have a lot more charts to make, but you can expect to see us unveiling the new charts here in the blog and then they will be posted to a Shop By Color section on the website.

Online Product Reviews Not Working… April 29, 2008

Just an announcement-

For quite a while, our online product reviews system has been working very on and off. Right now, it is not working at all- so please put off sending any reviews until further notice because the system is not working at all right now. I don’t want anyone to waste their time writing reviews since at this point I am not seeing a single review I get email notification of appear on the server. I will be contacting our programmers today, so hopefully it will get fixed in the near future.

I am receiving notices of many reviews in  my inbox, but when I go to the server to approve the day’s batch, the reviews are not on the server. This is happening with both reviews submitted post-order and reviews submitted directly through the site.

Yes, it is happening with reviews of all types- not just “not glowing” reviews. (So, to the person who just blasted Aromaleigh on Epinions (that site where people with a grudge go and create an account and then  post a nasty “Epinion” about Aromaleigh) Your reviews weren’t deleted. The system is not working. But, I’m getting used to the grudge reviews there now- that’s what Epinions is for! REAL reviews of Aromaleigh, based on actual customers rating Aromaleigh after they have placed an order with us, are available through Yahoo Shopping (a third party service that sends and collects and tabulates review data). Yahoo Shopping’s rating of Aromaleigh is 5 Stars.

But to respond to accusations that I delete all negative reviews sent and only allow postive reviews. This is absolutely not true. There are many reviews on the Aromaleigh site which are less than glowing reviews of our products. They are there because they are fair, constructive and well-written reviews. The only time I have not approved reviews is when they are obviously not within modicums of decency, or not within guidelines. In other words, they’re rude, slamming, or not constructive for our site visitors. Also, if a bunch of reviews come in all from the same person and every single one is snarky and one star, that’s obviously someone who just has a bone to pick. I’m not going to approve that set of reviews- sorry! If you don’t like something and want your review published, then say it in a well-written, well thought-out and constructive manner. It will get posted. I am not required to post content other than that. And my deleting rude or inappropriate content does not make me dishonest.

I will post as soon as the site reviews system is functional again.

If you’ve written a review in the last few weeks and it has not gone through I am very sorry in regards to your lost time and effort. I deeply appreciate your taking the time to review Aromaleigh products and make the reviews of our products a great part of the shopping experience we have on the Aromaleigh website.
