Hi Ladies,

Since hand and arm swatching has become such a phenomenon on beauty blogs, and it gives a different perspective on the colors than the swatches that we have on the website, I’ve decided to treat you all to hand swatches of our new Gothic Lolita Eyeshadow Collection.

In lieu of using my arm, it was just a lot easier to put dots of color on the back of my hand and photograph them on macro, so you can see better detail. So I looked a little like a character from a Dr. Seuss book by the time I was done, but hope you all enjoy!

These were photographed outdoors, in late afternoon light. Applied dry. No base or primer, just straight-up on my hand!

Enjoy!

xoxo

Miss K

Mmmmmm, delicious! I’ve been sitting here contemplating a few additional colors, your hand swatches helped me go from a “do I really need that color?” to a “YES, I REALLY NEED that color!”

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, these are sooo gorgeous and quite honestly seeing them on your hand has made me select a few more I wouldn’t have thought of ordering - I want them all :) Thank you!!!

I always swatch the colors on my hands as soon as I get them and then wander around to different rooms in the house to see how they look in different lighting. I look rather funny with multi colored polka dotted hands, but it’s fun :) The whole collection is gorgeous, and I do want the whole set in full sizes eventually.

So pretty! I haven’t swatched mine yet, so it helped a lot to see these “on” in daylight.

Miss K, seeing this I now know that Strawberry Despair is exactly what I’m looking for. Off to place my order now. These are all just lovely!

Kristen, seeing these swatches on your hand is equivalent to going to a cosmetic counter at Nordies and playing with the colors there on your own hand. The regular lighting makes them so real and appealing. Since you’re not at Nordstroms YET, this is a close second.

7. Pinky (Margaret) - April 27, 2008

Yummy. I think I need them all! Beautiful.

8. tamara - April 27, 2008

Great idea! I’m glad you showed the whole collection! These photos are wonderful.

Very helpful. I had missed lush memoir in the other swatches. It jumped out in those. Thanks!
I’d just ordered samples, too!
Oh well. The joy of sampling continues.
Thank you for another view of this beautiful collection.

Thanks for the swatches! I also always swatch new colors on my hand when I first get them. Since some colors look a bit different on skin than in the sample baggie, this prevents me from being surprised the first time I wear them on my eyes if they’re not what I was expecting ;) I also sometimes find that a free sample that I didn’t like in the baggie looks better on my skin!

You’re all very welcome… Hmm… I may just do this with the Elemental Lustres as well!

12. Elizabeth - April 28, 2008

Oh wow, the swatches are beautiful!

13. Jackie - April 28, 2008

Echoing what others have said - this has really helped a LOT, in terms of figuring out which colours I’d like to try. Thank you for taking the time to do this! Swatches of the Elemental Lustres would be amazing, if you have the time.

This is my favorite collection, every color is wearable (in my opinion) and beautiful. I swatched them all too when I got the samples but didn’t think to photograph them, but now I can print out your pictures to use a a guide when choosing color combos.

15. Ashley - April 29, 2008

Absolutely gorgeous. I am excited for my samples. They arrived this morning and I need to go pick them up later. I can tell I’m going to be playing “make up dress up” later!

16. lin - April 30, 2008

Oh boy, I’ll probably get my first samples today and I already see more that I want! Great idea, Kristen - the colors, especially the sparkles really show up well on your skin in the sun!
