If I there was one essential oil (or absolute) that I could wish into existence… it would be Hyacinth.
The gorgeous, heavy fragrance of these flowers cannot be captured and this is such a pity… for the only way that we can enjoy them is but for a short while. But what a divine short while that is! A single hyacinth bloom can scent an entire room for several days…
I have sweet memories of my hyacinth bulbs blooming on the edge of spring when I lived up north. Unfortunately, we don’t “do” bulbs here in South Carolina, but we CAN buy them in the grocery store, already in a pot!
