We adore Jessica Louise Clothing here at Aromaleigh! Jessica’s designs are a fashion staple in my closet and since she’s always making me feel so pretty, I sent her a goodie bag of Aromaleigh to use on set. Jessica Louise looks exquisite in Aromaleigh, if I do say so myself!

Fashion is one of my great daily inspirations in my work, and one of those little things that I rely on to put a smile on my face each morning when getting myself motivated is just so hard to do.

However, I’m exceedingly fickle about my fashion… and the mundane simply will not do. I’m not content with just jeans and a T-shirt. I want my T-shirt to be smashing.

I have a passion for dresses, and I think that ladies look divine in skirts. Vintage style is fantastic, but so hard to find. And when you’re marooned on the Island of Misfit toys, as I am… well, your fashion options are those that you find when you click.

And one day, in the dreary winter of 2005, I clicked upon jessicalouise.com. I got that sparkly feeling inside, that we girls get when we find something on the rack that is just “perfect”… only this feeling pertained to an entire line of clothing, so it was especially profound for me, and my PayPal account.

It’s been three years, and I’ve got a whole rack in my closet full of Jessica Louise designs. My favorite Jessica Louise dresses (especially my beloved Pirate Dresses) have a perfect home in my closet next to Betsey Johnson and Anna Sui, and other divine vintage items that I carefully stow, waiting for their next wearing…

But what I love the most about Jessica Louise’s designs is that I can wear them every single day (and I pretty much do!) and they are made from wearable, washable fabrics that are comfortable and easy to take care of. In my work, I can get rather messy, so having to dry clean every item, or wear things that are delicate fabrics- isn’t really possible or affordable. I love being able to wear cute, girly, smart and edgy designs every day.

But the best part is the color. I started wearing Jessica Louise around the same time that the Rocks! Sonic Eyes line came out. So I really started exploring color in my clothing AND my makeup as a result. The synthesis of these two things is what broke me out of my “black box” and got me wearing pinks, reds, teals and yellows… and I really enjoy wearing color every day now. I actually feel older and a bit downtrodden when I wear just black.

As you know, I prescribe a dose of color for all ailments. Especially pink.

Below are a few of my favorite Jessica Louise items!

i drop in and view her latest fashions every now and then. if i weren’t so in love with black i’d be very tempted to wear such cute colorful outfits. i may just have to buy those adorable skull sock garters though & the leopard print pirate dress. the bikini top would look awfully cute with my black boyshorts too.

Is Jessica Louise in any of the photos wearing AL, or are those all models (wearing AL?)?

Jessica Louise is wearing AL in the big photos that are the main focus of my article. The little tiny photo links are just links to things that are some of my favorite items. If those models were wearing AL, I would have made them huge photos! :)

Nadja, I just ordered the leopard pirate dress. I’m not too sure of me and leopard print, but the cut of this dress is SO cute that I think I’ll be able to pull it off with the right shoes and especially now that my hair is bobbed again… :)

    So cool!
I totally love her hair. In the past, I have been tempted to get some pink clip in pieces, but now with red hair, I am not too sure how that would look :)

oh, i am so jealous! that’d look too cute with some fishnets or thicker stockings when it’s chilly…and any pair of black heels would look cute with that dress. i’m thinking some simple mary janes or black pleated satin pumps. ;)

Miss K–do you know what colors she’s wearing? The blush looks awesome.

Nadja, I’ve got an assortment of Mary Janes that I think will go nicely! It gets pretty wild and hot here in Hilton Head, so it should fit in quite nicely… today, we saw three alligators.

green, I don’t know what JL’s wearing- these were taken quite some time ago, so we’ve actually lost track of the colors used on the shoot unfortunately. I just know that she looks divine! :)

Melissa, clip-in pieces are fantastic. I think that the right color pink would look great with your henna’d hair. I bet Cin can hook you up with a great place to get some cool clips. I wish I could keep my hair a brighter color, but I just don’t have the time or patience to do any more maintenance than black. I’m so basic that way!!! ha!

Yes, Cin is the queen of clip-ins. I’ll have to look into the pink ones then :-)

I totally hear ya about hair maintenance. My red henna’d hair is so low maintenance, which seems crazy to me. Red is one of the hardest colors to keep, from what I’m told. I had blond many years ago, loved it, but my dark roots showed up too quickly. I’ll probably never stray from my henna’d hair, just because it is so easy to keep :-)
