Marvel Mini Red: 1 week down, 3 to go…
Dear Aromaleigh bloggers and avid “marvel mini” googlers (and there are an astounding number of you based on my stats!)… here I present you with my 1 week review of my Marvel Mini Red.
I’ve done 5 treatments so far and I am seeing very favorable results!
The most noticeable result is a vast reduction in my rosacea on either side of my nose. This really used to be blaring red after I showered or washed my face, worked out, was exposed to cold air or even was very noticeable when I woke up in the morning. I’ve seen what I can only describe as wonderful results and my husband also noticed that my face was not so red at times… “could it be that red light thingy?” Time will tell…
I have also noticed that my lower face, in particular around the “parantheses” or naso-labial folds, if you want to get technical… that there is more fullness, or less of a gaunt/hollow look. It is apparent that this is a reaction to the treatment in that area. As I have read in information about Titan and Thermage treatments, that one might experience mild swelling and skin plumping after treatment, I am seeing that this may very well be possible with the Marvel Mini as well. It is not “puffiness” or unattractive swelling, but quite the opposite. The area looks more youthful and supple. I surely do hope that this doesn’t go away and only gets better!
I have not noticed any change in pore size.
I have not noticed any reduction in fine lines, but I don’t have that many to start with.
My skin does appear more healthy and luminous, and my skintone is becoming more even. This could be because of the reduction in the rosacea.
I also am happily seeing more fading in the melasma caused by the BCP’s Yaz and Yasmin that I took for 9 months. I don’t know if this fading is being helped by the Marvel Mini, or if it is a result of going off of these pills and it is occurring at a natural rate. Regardless, I am thrilled to see it go.
I’ve gotten used to the Marvel Mini routine and have it down pat. 25 minutes goes by quickly and I now just lay on the bed and watch TV while I do it, only closing my eyes when I am actually near the eye area. My arms have gotten used to it too!
So far, I give a big thumbs up to the Marvel Mini Red… I am doing a treatment every other day, 4 times a week… and I look forward to it. It is relaxing, and I like the gentle warming feeling of the red light. And the fact that I am actually seeing results sure is an added plus!
I will be posting halfway photos next week!

Thanks, Kristen, for the update! It’s great that you’re seeing some benefits in such a short period of time. Looking forward to the photos.
I really appreciate your update and your willingness to share your review, photos, and your overall opinion on this product. I was checking your blog many times for the update so I added to the hits…thank you!
Your review was what it took to convince me! I’ve found a stockist here and should be home with my brand new marvel mini tomorrow afternoon
Just curious though.. does the surface of the gizmo have to lie flat against your skin? How do you do your nose then?
Thanks ^.^
Hi Oshi~ It doesn’t lie flat on your skin at all times due to facial contours and the size/shape of the wand. The thing that is affecting your skin is the light from the wand, not the actual contact with the wand. The instructions tell you to use a “glide and lift” technique as you go in a circular motion on your face. I hold the wand in whatever angle gets it in the best contact with my face which means sometimes I am changing hands and/or the grip on the handle. When I do my nose, I just hold it so that it is making the most contact with the sides and contours of my nose. In my case, this means I am holding the wand straight and my hand and the handle are in front of my mouth as I go across my nose. This is hard to describe, sorry- I’m sure that once you start using it, you’ll figure out what I’m talking about. Hope you get good results!
This looks very similar to my Baby Quasar that I recently purchased from Bliss. I was torn between which one would work the best, but after reading the essential day spa DIY message board I feel I’ve made the best decision. Have you tried the Baby Quasar?
